Snow Days

We got another snow storm here in Reno. When the skies cleared up, Daddy and Mommy took me to the park nearby to try sledding on the little hill.  I must say I didn't care much for sledding. However, I did enjoy walking in the snow and making snowballs.

I also loved seeing the wild horses come out.  Don't they look pretty in the snow?

Sick Baby Maverick

While Big Sister Talley was having a keen time celebrating her second birthday, I was sick with pneumonia and being subjected to various forms of torture, such as the infant x-ray machine pictured above.  My awful coughing and wheezing really gave everyone a scare.  The worst part was that I felt so miserable, but I couldn't even cry about it because my voice was completely shot.  I could barely let out a whisper of a scream.  I had to get steroid and antibiotic shots, take more antibiotics orally, and have breathing treatments on a nebulizer.  It was no fun at all, but I'm so thankful the medicine worked and I'm feeling much better now.  I never want to go to the infant torture chamber again!  Thank you so much to everyone who prayed for me and checked in on me. I am very grateful for your love and concern.

Put on Your Tutu - Talley is Two!

To celebrate my second birthday, I had a private party with a bunch of my friends at Gymboree.  It was themed Pirates and Princesses, which means I got to wear an awesome toot-toot.  We played with all of the cool equipment and sang fun songs.  Mommy made a healthy cake (which only Mommy and I actually ate) and Daddy made his famously yummy chocolate cupcakes.

I was so proud of myself for blowing out the candles on my cake.  It took several tries, but I finally got it!  At first I kept doing short little breaths and my friend, Lexie, kept blowing them out for me.  Everyone had given up on me after a few rounds of this, but then I asked Mommy, "Please turn it back on?" and when she relit the candles, I mustered a big puff and I did it! 

Thank you to all of my friends and Uncle Colin and Grandpa O who came out to celebrate with me.  Also, big thank you to Grandma Jennifer who helped get everything ready for the party, but then didn't get to go because she stayed back with Baby Brother who was sick.

In addition to my fun Gymboree party, Grandma Linda, Uncle Willis, and Grandpa T have come to visit and take me birthday shopping.  Birthday shopping is the absolute best!  Thanks for showering me with love and presents and for playing with me and holding Steve.  Since you did so well with Steve, maybe next time, I'll let you hold one of my other precious Barbies...and, of course, Steve.

P.S.  Mommy accidentally left the house sans my awesome hairbow that matched my birthday outfit on the day of the party.  Thus, we will be having a belated birthday photo shoot with me in my birthday outfit complete with this essential accessory.  Those photos will then be added to the Kodak album.
