Guess Who Rolled Over!

That's right - me!  I rolled over from tummy to back just before my 4-month check up Monday morning.  Just wanted to check off a milestone before visiting the doc.  I haven't felt the need to do it again since. 

The doctor said that my development is great.  I'm now weigh 15 pounds and 4 ounces and measure 24.5 inches long.  I had to get a couple shots, which I didn't like at all, but I shook it off pretty quickly.  Takes more than a couple pokes to keep me down.  I'm a pretty happy little meatloaf man these days.  Four months is a good age for me.  I smile and laugh a lot, especially when it's time to get naked.  When it's time to get naked that means it's usually time for a bath, and as you have learned from previous posts, I LOVE the bath.  I also love seeing faces.  I've decided to give the people what they want and be much more socialable now that I'm four months old.  A mere few weeks ago, I might scream at you just for looking at me if you weren't Mommy or Daddy.  However, I think I'm past that phase and I'm looking forward to being a happy baby from here on out.

Easter 2011

Easter 2011 was filled with family, friends, and fun. 

We attended a pre-Easter egg hunt/potluck event at a park with the Moms Club the Thursday before Easter. 

Then on actual Easter Sunday, we went to church and then to another Easter egg hunt/potluck event at Mommy's friend's parents' house. 

I enjoyed looking for eggs for a little bit.  Then I became obsessed with the little playhouse pictured above.  I had so much fun pretending to sell chicken from the window.  "Five dollars please."  Please click here to see a short video of me in the playhouse: Happy Easter from Talley

Maverick also enjoyed the party.  Just doing what he does best - looking cute and having awesome hair.

Easter evening, we went to Grandma and Grandpa O's house.  I sang "Jesus Loves Me" nonstop on the drive over.  Once we got there, we colored eggs, played, and had a delicious lasagna dinner, courtesy of Grandma O.

A Spectacularly Ordinary Fun Weekend

A couple of Saturdays ago, we went to the UNR Spring scrimmage game.  I loved watching the football players and cheerleaders.  The bouncy house was awesome too.

 

When we got home, Andy Pop and Grandma Linda stopped by for a visit.

 

That Sunday, we went to Virginia City to meet up with Mommy's friends, Alyssa and Tessa. 

At lunch, I got to eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.  Like the real kind with nothing organic about it - high fructose corn syrup jelly, hydrogenated oil infused peanut butter, and processed-until-it-doesn't-even-look-real white bread.  It was the most sugar and processed food I think Mommy and Daddy have ever let me have in one sitting.  I went absolutely bananas afterwards and Mommy and Daddy have vowed to never let me eat like that again.  Oh well, I enjoyed it while I could!

To sum it up, it was spectacularly ordinary fun weekend, hence the title of this post.

Look! We Really Love Each Other!

The older Maverick gets, the more fun we have together.  He has become my favorite baby doll.  I especially love going in to greet him when he wakes up from a nap and pouring water on him in the bath.  Sometimes, his cuteness moves me to spontaneous hugging and kissing.  I love being praised for something so easy as loving my brother too.  Being a good big sister is one of the things I'm most proud of.

Not All Poops and Giggles

Mommy's friends often comment how mellow and well-behaved we are.  Generally speaking, yes we are wonderful.  However, you should still know we are normal and human and we get our diapers in a bunch sometimes just like the next baby.  This picture just captures one of those moments.

More Dancing Princess

I've been enjoying dance class a lot.  We have a recital coming up on May 28th.  In preparation, I practice singing songs and dancing moves from class all the time at home.  I love wearing my dance clothes and shoes whenever I can too.

Sometimes Darby's hugs turn into headlocks, but I know she means well.  She makes sure that class never gets boring.

Cousins!

Our cousins, Jason, Lily, Jackson, and Oliver, came to visit us a few weeks ago.  We had a blast hanging out together.

Talley at 2 and 2

At two years and two months old, I'm having more fun than ever.  Dancing, singing, swimming, climbing, doll playing - I love doing all the things a princess does.  I've also perfected the princess tantrum.  I showcase my tantrums primarily when my independence is challenged and I don't get my way.  "Talley wants to do it by myself."  For these tantrums, I get my share of timeouts.  Of course, I never like getting timeouts, but I always seem to come out of them feeling better.  I guess it's all part of being two and learning my limits.  Although, I really don't understand why there must be limits at all.  Maybe I'll figure that out next month along with why it's necessary to count the number five...
